BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (February 10, 2013) – The LIU Post men's basketball team dominated the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks with a  76-48 victory on Sunday evening at the Pratt Recreation Center.

The Pioneers improve to 15-6 overall and 10-3 in conference action, while Roberts goes to 7-15 overall and 4-10 in ECC play.

The Redhawks took an early lead in the opening minutes of play, and with 14:25 left in the first half, led 11-9, but a three by Jonathan Kohler (Bordentown, N.J.) gave the Pioneers a 12-11 lead, one which they would not relinquish for the remainder of the contest.  A quick 12-3 scoring burst over the next five minutes gave the Pioneers a 23-14 lead at the 9:29 mark, and the Pioneers steadily increased their lead into the high teens as the first half drew to close, holding a 46-28 halftime advantage.

The Pioneers kept Roberts at bay in the second half, as their stranglehold on the lead did not dip lower than a 16-point advantage in closing out the victory.

The Pioneers shot a 47.3% (26-55) for the contest, making 8-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc and converting 16-of-28 attempts from the charity stripe.  The hosts also had a huge advantage on the glass, with a 51-28 edge, as well as 29 bench points.
