Baseball Drops Season Opener to Stonehill 2-1

Bo Budkevics (Deer Park, N.Y.) tossed six shutout innings and struck out nine batters, but the LIU Post baseball team fell by a 2-1 final score to the Stonehill Skyhawks in the season opener for the Pioneers on Thursday evening.
The Skyhawks scratched out two runs in the first and made the lead stand for the game, as Budkevics settled in to throw six scoreless innings. The Pioneers made it a one run game as junior

Anthony Corona (Carmel, N.Y.) but they could not push across the tying run.
Casey McKay (Massapequa, N.Y.) led the Pioneers with two hits in the game.
The Pioneers take on Felician College on Friday at 10:30 as baseball action continues in Myrtle Beach.
