Men's Lacrosse Selected Third In ECC Preseason Poll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2013) – The LIU Post men's lacrosse team was picked third in the 2013 East Coast Conference men's lacrosse preseason poll, as voted on by the conference's head coaches.
Reigning national champion Dowling College was the top vote getter in the poll with six first-place votes and 62 points. NYIT received one first-place vote and finished with 53 points. The Pioneers were third with 46 points and received the final first-place tally. Finishing out the top half of the poll was Chestnut Hill with 42 total points.
Molloy was fifth with 34 points while Mercy was sixth with 27 points. In seventh was Roberts Wesleyan with 14 points while Dominican was eighth with 10 points.
NYIT's Luke Miller and Danny McDermott, Jr. were named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Preseason Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.
LIU Post opens its season at Queens University of Charlotte on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 22 p.m.
