Slane Tabbed as ECC Rookie of the Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 10, 2013) - Freshman attacker
Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) earned East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week kudos for his performance last week, the conference announced on Monday.
Slane led LIU Post to its fifth straight win, an 18-1 thumping of Dominican College on Saturday as he scored five goals. Two of the goals were man-down. He took eight shots on the day, seven on goal, and picked up four ground balls.
The sixth-ranked LIU Post men's lacrosse team won its fifth straight contest in improving to 8-1 on the season and remaining perfect at 4-0 in conference play as the Pioneers defeated Dominican College by a convincing 18-1 final score. The Pioneers have an important matchup this weekend, taking on top-ranked Mercyhurst at home on Saturday at 12 noon.
