Bo Budkevics (Deer Park, N.Y.) tossed a complete game, scattering five hits and allowing only one unearned run, as he led the LIU Post baseball team to a 2-1 victory over the Mercy College Mavericks on Friday afternoon.
The Pioneers improve to 10-11 overall, and 3-2 in conference action, while the Mavericks slide to 4-20 on the season and 1-8 in conference action.
The visitors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as senior
Keith Herring (New York, N.Y.) led off with a homer to left center.
The Mavericks tied the score with an unearned run in the bottom of the inning.

Anthony Corona (Carmel, N.Y.) led off the inning with a double to left, moved to third on junior
Rich Maccarone's (Glen Cove, N.Y.) single to left center, and scored on freshman
John Bellock's (Glen Cove, N.Y.) squeeze bunt.
The pair of runs were all Budkevics needed as he settled in and allowed only five hits through nine innings, striking out 11 batters. He did not issue a walk in improving to 3-3 on the season.
Mercy's Tom Cummings threw eight innings, giving up eight hits and striking out nine.
Offensively, Herring, Corona and freshman
Matt Bowers (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had two hits.
