Weber Garners Louisville Slugger NFCA Division II National Player Of The Week Honors

LOUISVILLE, KY (May 1, 2013) – Junior Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) of the LIU Post softball team has been named the Louisville Slugger NFCA Division II National Player of the Week for her on field performance this past week.

A pitcher/designated player for the Pioneers, Weber starred at both the plate and in the circle as the Pioneers posted a perfect 8-0 week, including a pair of solid wins over then-No. 23 Adelphi and Caldwell (received votes in this week's NFCA poll). The Brightwaters, N.Y., native and reigning East Coast Conference Player of the Week batted .556 (15-for-27) from her lead-off spot in the order, registering two doubles, three walks, three HR's, nine runs scored and seven RBIs while slugging at a .963 clip and posting a .600 on-base percentage.

From the circle Weber was also a perfect 4-0 with 1.35 ERA and 26 strikeouts over 26 innings of work. On the year she boasts a team-best 22-5 record with a 1.92 ERA and 180 K's over 171.1 innings, while also owning a squad-high .419 batting average to go along with 39 runs scored, 12 doubles, 10 HR's and 29 RBIs.
