Football's Williams Lands on NE-10 Academic All-Conference Ledger
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Jan. 31, 2014) - The Northeast-10 Conference announced its fall Academic All-Conference teams Friday, and LIU Post senior free safety
Tommy Williams (Westbury, N.Y.) was one of 91 overall selections.
On the field, Williams, one of the green and gold's two captains in 2013, finished the season with 67 tackles (32 solo, 35 assists). He also picked off three passes and broke up five more.
The 91 honorees, participating in men's and women's cross country, football, field hockey, men's and women's soccer and volleyball, were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom, and on the playing field.
To be eligible for selection to the Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and been either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.
