SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Nov. 3, 2014) - For the third time in 2014, LIU Post red-shirt senior quarterback Steven Laurino (Boise, Idaho) has garnered Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week recognition, it was announced Monday.

Laurino threw for three touchdowns on 21-of-36 passing and rushed for another score in a 28-3 rout of Southern Connecticut State on Saturday (Nov. 1). The result has the Pioneers one win away from securing a spot in the NE-10 title game on Nov. 15.

The Boise native opened the scoring in the contest with a first-quarter 22-yard keeper into the end zone. He then connected with red-shirt senior wideout Kamron Palmer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) for 9- and 28-yard touchdown strikes, sandwiched by a 12-yard hook-up with red-shirt sophomore wide receiver Shane Hubbard (St. Albans, N.Y.) for seven.

Laurino, who presently carries a 130.9 efficiency rating, is in the process of posting his best statistical numbers in a green and gold uniform. He has completed 61.0 percent (224-of-367) of his passes on the season for 2,529 yards and 20 touchdowns. Those numbers rank in the Top-3 amongst the NE-10's leading signal-callers.

In addition, Laurino sits in the Top-25 in Division II in nine statistical categories. He is listed second in points responsible for (216), third in points responsible for per game (24.0), sixth in rushing touchdowns (15), ninth in total offense (332.9), 11th in scoring (10.7) and completions per game (24.8), 16th in passing yards, and 24th in passing touchdowns (20.0) and passing yards per game (281.0).

Laurino and the Pioneers are back in action Saturday (Nov. 8), when they wrap up the 2014 regular season at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium against NE-10 rival Bentley. Kickoff is slated for noon.
