Former Pioneer Bonneau Selected in 2014 NBA D-League Draft

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 4, 2014) - On Saturday, former LIU Post men's basketball standout Stefan Bonneau (Middletown, N.Y.) was selected by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA's Development League.

Last season, Bonneau made a statement in the NBL Canada, capturing the championship with the Windsor Express.

He was tabbed as the NBL Canada Finals Most Valuable Player and earned a spot on the All-Star Team. Bonneau, who averaged 22.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on the season, garnered All-League first-team accolades as well.

In his short two-year stint (2010-12) with the Pioneers, the Middletown, N.Y. native shot a lifetime 45.3 percent from the floor, en route to posting a 20.3 scoring average. Additionally, Bonneau dished out 2.7 assists and swiped 1.3 steals per contest, while making 217 of his 263 career attempts (82.5 percent) from the foul line.

His final season saw the upswing of countless awards. Bonneau was named the East Coast Conference, Daktronics East Region, ECAC and All-Met Player of the Year. He also got recognized to All-America teams by three different organizations (NABC, Basketball Times, Daktronics).

Upon graduation from LIU Post, Bonneau was drafted by the Springfield Armor in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft. He went on to be traded to the Austin Toros, before being picked up by the Windsor Express.
