Swimming Places Eighth in 200-Yard Medley Relay
Day One Results
GENEVA, Ohio (Mar. 12, 2014) - On Day One of the 2014 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming Championships, LIU Post captured an eighth-place finish and All-America honors in the 200-yard medley relay.
Senior
Tamara Garriock (Duncan, British Columbia, Canada), junior
Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.), and sophomores
Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) and
Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) combined for a finals time of 1:42.61 after clocking a 1:42.92 in the preliminaries earlier that morning.
Garriock also swam in the consolation finals of the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 16th (2:06.95).
Earlier in the day, four Pioneers competed in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries. Sophomore
Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) came in 29th (23.79), which tied the second-fastest time in program history. Also racing in the event was Delehanty in 41st place (24.12), Jones in 42nd (24.22), and sophomore
Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) in 46th (24.28).
The green and gold finished Day One in 15th place with 23 total points through eight events. Follow
