GENEVA, Ohio (Mar. 7, 2014) - Last week, the official invitation list was released for the 2014 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships, and eight LIU Post swimmers qualified. The three-day meet will take place from Mar. 12-15 at The Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Representing the Pioneers at the championships are the following - senior Tamara Garriock (Duncan, British Columbia, Canada), juniors Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden), Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.), and Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany), and sophomores Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.), Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway), and Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom).

Garriock is making the trip for the fourth time in her career. She has made the cut in the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley (in which she is currently ranked 8th), 100-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard breaststroke after racing in each of those same events at the 2013 championships.

Competing on the national stage for the third time in as many years, Pettersson qualified in the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley (10th).

Hoping to repeat as national champion in the 200-yard butterfly (4th), Kwok will also partake in the 100-yard butterfly (3rd), 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley. Joining her in the 200-yard individual medley will be Pioneer newcomer Rademacher. The Germany native is slated to compete in the 400-yard individual medley (8th), 100-yard breaststroke, and 200-yard breaststroke (10th) as well.

The other three sophomores make their return to NCAA's in the hopes of improving on prior success. Soerensen qualified in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly. Brazier has her eyes fixated on national titles in the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle, and 100-yard backstroke. Delehanty and Jones, who will swim in the 100-yard backstroke (10th), are set to showcase their speed in the 50-free competition too.

In addition, the green and gold will partake in five relay events. The 200-yard medley relay squad of Jones, Garriock, Kwok, and Delehanty is currently ranked second in the country, while the 400-yard medley relay crew of Pettersson, Garriock, Kwok, and Brazier posted the seventh-best time in all of Division II

Garriock, Kwok, Brazier, and Soerensen will team up for the 400-yard freestyle relay, as they hold the eighth-best time. Plus, the Pioneers have the opportunity to compete in the 200- and 800-yard freestyle relays.

The events, scheduled be streamed live on NCAA.com, take place each day with the preliminary trials occurring at 10:30 a.m., followed by the finals at 6 p.m. EST.
