No. 18 Softball Tops Initial NCAA Division II Regional Tally
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Apr. 18, 2014) - The NCAA Division II Softball Committee released the first East Region rankings of the 2014 season Thursday, and LIU Post sat atop the ledger.
The Pioneers are slotted first with a 22-2 in-region record, while Caldwell is right behind in second, sporting a regional mark of 20-3. Adelphi and New Haven occupy the third and fourth spots, respectively. Fellow ECC institution Queens finds itself in fifth.
The bottom half of the census is held by Southern New Hampshire, Georgian Court, Holy Family, Le Moyne, and league rival Molloy.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday (Apr. 19), when they travel to Sparkill, N.Y. to face St. Thomas Aquinas in an East Coast Conference duel. Play is set to begin at noon.
