Pioneers Ranked 13th in Final Winter Learfield Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Apr. 3, 2014) - In the final winter poll of the 2013-14 season, LIU Post moved up two spots to No. 13 in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings, released Thursday.

The Pioneers, who have totaled 357 points thus far, earned 64 points for their ninth-place finish in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship and 66 points for their 11th-place effort at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships. Sophomore Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) highlighted the meet for the green and gold, as she captured her second-straight national title in the 200-yard butterfly.

Grand Valley State sits atop the rankings with a 718-point total. Drury has had the best winter so far though, amassing a whopping 346 points, en route to placing 14th in the ledger.

Bridgeport is the next closest East Coast Conference institution to LIU Post. The Purple Knights currently sport 270.50 points, which is good for 29th place.
