BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 7, 2014) - On Monday, Lacrosse Magazine revealed its latest Division II Top-15 Poll, and the LIU Post men's lacrosse team remained ninth in the tally. However, the Pioneers dipped two notches in the USILA rankings to 11th.

The Pioneers wrapped up a four-game road trip last Wednesday with a hard-fought 11-10 loss at Merrimack, but rebounded Saturday by defeating Dominican, 16-3. Junior attackman Chris Caiazza (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) racked up a team-high seven points (6 G, 1 A) on the week for the green and gold. Sophomore midfielder Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) was right behind him with six points (4 G, 2 A).

For the first time this season, Adelphi, following a 13-11 victory over now No. 2 Le Moyne, sat atop both ledgers. Limestone maintained its hold on the No. 3 slot. Mercyhurst and Dowling followed to make up the Top-5.

In the Lacrosse Magazine poll, Merrimack (No. 6) and NYIT (No. 8) rose four and three spots, respectively. Meanwhile, Tampa was sandwiched between those two squads in seventh. Queens (N.C.) and Lake Erie both returned to the Top-15.

Tampa and Merrimack were flip-flopped in the USILA census. The Spartans ranked sixth, whereas the Warriors placed seventh. Seton Hill narrowly edged NYIT for the No. 8 ranking. Pfeiffer fell from sixth to round out the Top-10.

Head Coach John Jez and his LIU Post squad are back in action Saturday (Apr. 12) at No. 4/4 Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa. The opening faceoff is scheduled for noon.
