PERRY, N.Y. (May 19, 2014) - On Monday, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team produced multiple USILA All-America honorees for the eighth time in nine years. Sophomore midfielder Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) led the Pioneer pack with a second-team nod.

Berardis, entering Sunday's NCAA Division II National Championship contest, is tied for the team-lead in man-up goals (7). Two of those tallies have come in postseason action. He has also recorded five multi-goal games, including a career-tying four-goal effort in a 17-5 season-opening win over Saint Anselm. Berardis, an All-East Coast Conference first-team pick late last month, added three hat tricks to his credit this year as well.

Senior defenseman T.J. McAndrew (Randolph, N.J.) and junior defenseman Robbie Chiocco (Massapequa, N.Y.) were picked to the All-America third-team. McAndrew, now a two-time USILA All-American, paces the green and gold in ground balls (70) and caused turnovers (29). His average of 1.81 caused turnovers per game currently ranks 18th in Division II. In addition, McAndrew continues to help out on the offensive end, racking up eight assists.

Chiocco has been an anchor on LIU Post's defensive unit, which presently limits the opposition to the fourth-fewest goals-against average in the country (6.94). He sits second on the team in caused turnovers (15) and third in ground balls (35). The All-America selection is the first in Chiocco's collegiate career.

Lastly, sophomore attackman Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) landed on the USILA All-America Honorable Mention roster for the second-consecutive season. He is the Pioneers' leading attackman, registering a team-high 53 points on 31 goals and 22 helpers. In the postseason, Beccaris has surged, sporting 11 goals and four assists for 15 points over a four-game stretch.
