SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Sept. 15, 2014) - On Monday, red-shirt senior quarterback Steven Laurino (Boise, Idaho) of the LIU Post football team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his clutch performance in the team's first win of the 2014 season.

Laurino and the Pioneers pulled out a 38-33 win over New Haven on Saturday, with the red-shirt senior leading the aerial attack, as well as the ground game. He completed 32-of-50 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for three scores. Laurino's third touchdown on the ground, a one-yard keeper with 13 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, sealed the come-from-behind victory for the green and gold.

Additionally, Laurino surpassed 2005 graduate Rob Blount's mark for career passing yards on a 12-yard strike to Kamron Palmer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) in the first quarter of the game. The Idaho native has now amassed 6,619 passing yards in his career in Brookville.

The Pioneers will travel to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday (Sept. 20), when they face Merrimack in another NE-10 showdown. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
