Men's Lacrosse Reveals 2015 Schedule

2015 LIU Post Men's Lacrosse Schedule

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 7, 2015)
- On Wednesday, Head Coach John Jez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and the LIU Post men's lacrosse team released their 2015 schedule, complete with seven games versus Top-15 opposition.

"We are looking forward to playing a challenging schedule in 2015," Jez said. "Facing seven of the Top-15 teams in the land will be a great test for our team, as we try to get back to the national playoffs."

The Pioneers, who rank second in the Inside Lacrosse Division II Preseason Poll, will begin the 2015 season with four of their first five contests at a neutral site or on the road. LIU Post gets things started on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) in Severna Park, Md. against No. 14 Queens (N.C.). before opening its home and East Coast Conference slate at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in a showdown with Roberts Wesleyan on Feb. 22.

The green and gold will then head to Florida, where they will face No. 15 Saint Leo (Feb. 27) and Lynn (Mar. 1) in the span of three days. Following the return flight to Long Island, LIU Post meets sixth-ranked Adelphi on Mar. 7 in a re-match of last year's NCAA Division II National Semifinal in Garden City.

After spending much of the first month of the season on the road, the Pioneers will host No. 9 Molloy in an ECC clash on Mar. 14. The contest is the start of a seven-game swing that will include five home games. In addition to hosting Molloy, the green and gold also welcome UDC (Mar. 17), Chestnut Hill (Mar. 21), No. 7 Merrimack (Apr. 4) and No. 5 NYIT (Apr. 11) to Bethpage Stadium.

Jez's squad will close out the regular season on the road, facing No. 13 Dowling (Apr. 18) and Mercy (Apr. 25) on back-to-back Saturdays.

Less than a week after the regular season concludes, the East Coast Conference Championship commences. The top two seeds will host semifinal match-ups on Apr. 29. Dowling is the pre-determined site to host the final on May 2.

In 2014, LIU Post, which eyes a return to the National Championship game, battled to an overall record of 11-6 and hoisted the East Coast Conference title.
