Beccaris Nominated For LaxMag Preseason Player of the Year

SPARKS, Md. (Dec. 15, 2015) - On Tuesday, LIU Post men's lacrosse senior attackman Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) was selected as one of only five finalists for Lacrosse Magazine's Division II Preseason Player of the Year Award.

Beccaris, a three-time All-America selection in his Pioneer career, was LIU Post's top scorer in 2015 with 64 points, including a team-high-tying 44 goals. His 44 tallies ranked second-best amongst the East Coast Conference's goal leaders.

Beccaris also ranked in the Top-25 in Division II in a pair of offensive statistical categories. He tied for 18th in goals per game and placed 21st in points per game, averaging clips of 2.59 and 3.76, respectively.

Beccaris' efforts landed him All-ECC first-team and USILA All-America second-team recognition. Additionally, he was named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Second Team for the second time in as many seasons.
