BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 23, 2015) - The LIU Post men's lacrosse team has individually remained second and third in the Nike/Lacrosse Magazine and USILA Division II Top-15 rankings, released Monday.

The Pioneers kicked off East Coast Conference play less than 24 hours earlier with a 14-7 win over Roberts Wesleyan at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y. Junior attackman Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) netted three first-half goals, en route to collecting five points on the afternoon (3 G, 2 A). Meanwhile, fellow junior attackman Matt Bellando (Miami, Fla.) scored three times in the latter 30 minutes of action, as part of a game-high six-point (3 G, 3 A) effort.

Senior defenseman Dan Jeannotte (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) was dominant on faceoffs yet again, winning 10-of-13. Between the pipes, junior goalie Adam Winne (Ridgefield, Conn.) stopped six of the nine shots he faced.

Lacrosse Magazine's Top-10 held court for the second-straight week. Limestone topped the poll, while Adelphi, Le Moyne and Tampa rounded out the Top-5. However, in the bottom half of the tally, Mercyhurst (No. 11) and Mercy (No. 13) each climbed up one spot from last week.

In the USILA ledger, Limestone and Le Moyne stayed in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively. Adelphi (No. 4), NYIT (No. 5) and Merrimack (No. 6) all jumped forward one notch from their preseason rankings. Tampa, following a 16-7 loss to Limestone back on Feb. 14, slid from fourth to seventh.

Head Coach John Jez and his LIU Post squad return to action on Friday (Feb. 27), when they square off with Saint Leo in a non-conference showdown at St. Augustine High School in St. Augustine, Fla. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
