PERRY, N.Y. (May 18, 2015) - In addition to being selected as All-Americans, seniors Robbie Chiocco (Massapequa, N.Y.)Connor Drost (Wading River, N.Y.) and Justin Woodley (Bloomington, Minn.) of the LIU Post men's lacrosse team were named Scholar All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association on Monday.

Chiocco, an accounting major, was a USILA second-team All-America selection after a brilliant season as one of the leaders of the Pioneers' defensive unit. The senior collected assists in three contests, caused 13 turnovers and accumulated 19 ground balls in 12 starts for the East Coast Conference champions. Chiocco was also an all-conference performer along with Woodley, a fellow senior defenseman and USILA All-America Honorable Mention recipient. Woodley started in 14 contests for the green and gold this season and collected 13 ground balls. The accounting major also caused twelve turnovers and helped lead LIU Post to a third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.

Drost, a criminal justice major with a 3.4 grade-point average, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District One At-Large Team and also earned second-team All-American laurels from the USILA. The senior midfielder was third on the team in points (54), including a team-high 27 assists. His 54 points were the most accumulated by a Pioneer midfielder since Class of 2010 graduate Joe Meo (West Sayville, N.Y.) put up 43 points in his senior season, which culminated in the Pioneers' third national championship. Drost also posted a .527 shots-on-goal percentage and scooped up 18 ground balls.
