ResultsBROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 16, 2016) - On Saturday afternoon, the LIU Post women's swimming team took first in all 11 events, en route to a 109-94 win versus Division I program Siena College at the Pratt Natatorium.
The victory improved the Pioneers to 2-3 on the season in dual meets. As for the Saints, they dipped to 5-4 overall.
Seniors
Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and
Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) and freshman
Eline Swensen (Langhus, Norway) each raced to a pair of first-place finishes in individual events.
Brazier clocked top marks of 52.19 and 1:54.81 in the 100- and 200-yard freestyle, respectively. Her 100-free time was also good for an NCAA "B" cut. Kwok won the 100-yard butterfly (57.05) and 200-yard individual medley (2:12.77). Swensen came in first in the meet's long-distance races; the 500- (5:14.66) and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:39.69).
Sophomore Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) and senior
Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) individually touched the pad at first-place clockings of 25.14 and 59.83 in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. Bendfeldt contributed a second-place 1:00.53 in the 100-fly, as well.
In her Pioneer debut, freshman
Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand) blew past her opposition in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.70) and took second in the 50-free (25.48). Additionally, she teamed up with Jones, Kwok and Brazier to record an NCAA-provisional 1:42.55 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Freshman
Karis Fuller (London, England) swam to second-place showings in the 500- (5:22.37) and 1,000-free (10:57.41). Fellow freshman
Elin Kvarnemar (Varberg, Sweden) had a fourth-place time of 2:21.47 in the 200 IM, while sophomore
Giuliana Franco (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) clocked a fifth-place finish of 27.04 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Lastly, in the meet's final event, the group of Brazier, Jones, Kwok and Bendfeldt won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:37.87.

Michael Travers and his LIU Post squad return to the pool next Saturday (Jan. 23), when they travel to Staten Island for a 1 p.m. dual at Wagner College.
