EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. (Nov. 30, 2016) - The LIU Post men's soccer team had three of its student-athletes earn spots on the 2016 Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association All-America Team, as announced Wednesday by the organization.
Junior back
David Arvidsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) and junior midfielder
Harry Pearse (London, England) were named to the D2CCA All-America First Team for the first time in their collegiate careers.
Arvidsson, the 2016 East Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, led a defensive unit that limited the opposition to the fewest goals allowed (15) in the league. He also pitched in on the scoresheet, tallying nine points (4 G, 1 A).
Meanwhile, Pearse collected nine goals and an ECC-best 14 assists for a career-high 32 points this season. He paced the conference in shots (97) and ranked third amongst the league's leaders in game-winning goals (3), as well.
Sophomore midfielder
Charlie Ledula (London, England) garnered D2CCA All-America second-team recognition. It is his first All-America nod in his two years with the Pioneers.
Ledula, the 2016 ECC Offensive Player of the Year, led the conference this year in goals (18), points (42) and game-winners (8). His 42-point outburst was the highest in the ECC since former LIU Post standout
Eivind Austboe's 58-point total in 2013.
Additionally, Ledula, who ranks 10th in Division II in total goals and goals per game (0.9), netted a tally in 13 of the Pioneers' 16 regular-season contests in 2016.
