CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Dec. 5, 2016) - After averaging 9.5 points last week, LIU Post men's basketball freshman guard Jared Rivers (Westbury, N.Y.) was tabbed as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Rivers went off for a team- and season-high 17 points Saturday (Dec. 3) at American International. He shot 6-of-10 from the floor, including 5-of-9 from three-point range, in a hard-fought 85-82 loss.

Earlier in the week, Rivers chipped in two points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal in a thrilling 73-70 overtime victory against Daemen last Wednesday (Nov. 30).

Rivers and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday (Dec. 7), when they square off with ECC rival St. Thomas Aquinas College at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
