BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 22, 2016) - In the first regular-season rankings of the 2016 season, the LIU Post men's lacrosse team moved to No. 7 in Monday's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II polls.
The Pioneers opened the year Saturday (Feb. 20) with a 12-10 loss to then-No. 4 Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. Senior attackman
Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) recorded three goals and an assist for a team-high four points in the loss. Between the pipes, junior goaltender
Matthew Liantonio (Miller Place, N.Y.) had a game-best 13 saves.
Limestone College and Le Moyne College retained the No. 1 and No. 2 slots in both tallies, respectively. Merrimack was third in the USILA tally, while Lake Erie College held down the No. 3 spot in the Lacrosse Magazine ledger.
