No. 7 Men's Lacrosse Loses to No. 9 Adelphi, 15-9
Box Score BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 27, 2016) - The No. 7/7 LIU Post men's lacrosse team lost by a tough 15-9 final to ninth-ranked Adelphi University on Saturday in non-conference action at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.
Trailing 3-0 late in the first quarter, graduate midfielder
Jeremy Morgan (Ridge, N.Y.) and senior midfielder
Anthony Berardis (Mahopac, N.Y.) notched back-to-back goals to cut the Pioneer (0-2) deficit to 3-2.
In the second quarter, Panthers' (2-1) senior attackman Cory Stavis (Wantagh, N.Y.) and junior midfielder Christopher Racalbuto (Merrick, N.Y.)
got the only two tallies of the session, making it a 6-3 game at the break.
LIU Post opened the scoring in the third quarter, as senior attackman
Matt Bellando (Miami, Fla.) converted on an unassisted effort at the 10:28 mark to close the gap to 6-4.
However, Adelphi tallied four of the period's final five goals to pull away. Four different players found the back of the cage for the Panthers in that stretch.

Ryan Slane (North Babylon, N.Y.) paced the Pioneers offensively with four points (2 G, 2 A). Morgan and Bellando each registered two goals and an assist. Berardis chipped in a goal and two assists. Senior attackman
Matty Beccaris (North Babylon, N.Y.) added a pair of goals.

Matthew Liantonio (Miller Place, N.Y.) had his second-straight double-digit save effort for the Pioneers, making 11 stops. Senior cageminder John McGrath (Huntington, N.Y.) turned aside 14 shots for Adelphi.
