Feder Appointed Team USA Head Wrestling Coach at Maccabiah Games

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Apr. 19, 2016) - LIU Post wrestling alumnus and Athletic Hall of Famer Chris Feder has recently been tabbed as head coach for Maccabi USA's Open Men's Wrestling Team at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Feder had a stellar collegiate career with the Pioneers, capturing three straight Metropolitan Conference titles from 1967-69 and twice earning All-America accolades. He shattered the league's all-time scoring record and the conference mark for most wins by pinfall in the process.

Feder later went on to represent his country at the 8th and 13th World Maccabiah Games, where he won a silver medal in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling at both tournaments in 1969 and 1989.

"It is an honor and privilege to be named the Open Men's Wrestling Head Coach by Maccabi USA for the 20th World Maccabiah Games in 2017," said Feder. "Having the Maccabiah come full circle for me is truly remarkable."

Feder currently serves as the head coach for Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, Calif. and the Brawlers Wrestling Club in San Rafael, Calif. He previously held various leadership positions within USA and California Wrestling from 1990-2005.

Maccabi USA builds Jewish pride through sports, generating the emotional intensity, high details and powerful camaraderie of competition. They connect athletes, volunteers and supporters with the global Jewish community, and strengthen support for the state of Israel.

The 20th World Maccabiah Games will take place in Israel from July 4-17, 2017. Applications and tryout information are available at MaccabiUSA.com.
