Wrestling Inks Sparacio to National Letter of Intent For 2016-17

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 21, 2016) - On Thursday, LIU Post Head Wrestling Coach Joe Patrovich announced the signing of Anthony Sparacio to a National Letter of Intent for the 2016-17 campaign.

Sparacio wrestled for six years at North Babylon High School, where he amassed 186 career victories. As a senior, Sparacio became the first New York State champion in program history and earned All-America honors in the process.

Sparacio, who ranked 14th in the nation at the 120-lb. weight class in Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine in 2015-16, was also a six-time All-League, three-time All-County and three-time All-State selection.

Moreover, Sparacio captured three League III titles and was twice crowned as a Suffolk County Section XI Champion at North Babylon.

"He is a buzzsaw. That is the best thing you can say about him," Patrovich said. "Anthony never stops wrestling or working. He is never out of a match because of the way he wrestles. He is exciting to watch and coach, and we are looking forward to his arrival at LIU Post."
