Men's Lacrosse Earns Fourth-Straight NCAA Championship Bid

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 8, 2016) - On Sunday night, the eight-team field for the 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship was released, and LIU Post earned the No. 3 seed in the North Region.

The Pioneers, who have earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship in each of the last four seasons, will travel to North Andover, Mass. on Saturday (May 14) to face the No. 2 seed, Merrimack College, in a national quarterfinal showdown. Earlier this season, the Warriors defeated the Pioneers, 12-10, in the green and gold's season opener.

Entering the game, the Pioneers have won eight straight games, including beating New York Institute of Technology to capture their fourth-straight East Coast Conference Championship.

The winner of Saturday's game will meet the victor of the other quarterfinal between No. 1 seed Le Moyne College and No. 4 seed NYIT next Sunday (May 22) in the NCAA Division II National Semifinals.
