BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 14, 2017) - On Thursday, LIU Post Head Women's Bowling Coach
Edward Raven signed his first recruit for the 2017-18 season, inking
Emily Cavanaugh (West Islip, N.Y.) to a National Letter of Intent.
Cavanaugh, who averaged a 191 in her senior year at West Islip High School, is a five-time All-League selection and four-time recipient of the Most Valuable Player award.
She bowled the second-highest average in League II and posted a career-high 11th-place finish in singles and doubles in the A division. Additionally, Cavanaugh converted the 7-10 split as a senior.
"I am very happy that Emily chose LIU Post to continue her education and bowling career," said Raven. "As one of the top bowlers in Suffolk County, Emily will be a great addition to our team. She shows the passion and desire to be the best that she can be and displays the motivation and team-first attitude, which is important to any team's success."
"I am excited to continue my bowling career with the LIU Post women's bowling team and couldn't be happier to be doing it for a college that I fell in love with," Cavanaugh stated.
