SINKING SPRING, Pa. – The LIU Post women's bowling team put together a solid showing at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown University, finishing 12th at the three-day event.
Freshman
Emily Cavanaugh led the Pioneers with a 189.5 average during the tournament, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Second Team.
LIU Post started the event with a 912-874 victory against Saint Peter's University, but games of 842 and 838 were not enough to get past Morgan State University and Duquesne University, finishing the day 1-4.
Day two was a much more successful day for the Green and Gold, as the Pioneers went a perfect 5-0 during the Baker format, taking down nationally ranked Kutztown and Saint Francis University. LIU Post averaged an impressive 853.4 in the second format, while Cavanaugh averaged a 200 total individually.
During the final day of competition, the Pioneers went 1-2 in Baker match play format. After dropping a narrow 4-3 decision to Chestnut Hill University before bouncing back to sweep Saint Peter's, 4-0.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 17 when they participate in the Metro Classic at AMF Babylon.
