Cavanaugh Named ECC Co-Rookie Bowler of the Week

ECC WEEK 12 BOWLING REPORT

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Averaging a 189.5 total at the Golden Bear Classic freshman Emily Cavanaugh captured her first career East Coast Conference (ECC) weekly honor, as the conference office announced her as Co-Rookie of the Week Feb. 14.

Cavanaugh and Adelphi's Skylar McGarrity shared the week 12 honor. Cavanaugh was impressive once again during the three-day tournament, gathering a spot on the all-tournament team.  Along with the 189.5 average, Cavanaugh recorded a 39.3 strike percentage, 72.7 percent conversion rate on makeable spares, converted single pin spares at a 64.0 percent clip and notched a 75.0 percent fill frame percentage.

The West Islip native helped lead the Pioneers to a perfect 5-0 mark on day two of the event during the Baker format, as LIU Post knocked off powerhouse Kutztown University and Saint Francis University in the process.

The Pioneers return to the lanes this weekend when they participate in the Metro Classic at Babylon Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 17.
