Snelders, Farrell Named to USILA National Team of the Week

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The No. 13/17 LIU Post men's lacrosse team had an outstanding week on the turf, and two individual efforts were recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association as members of the national Team of the Week as announced April 11.

Junior face-off specialist Connor Farrell and freshman attacker William Snelders earned spots on the 10-man national squad after standout weeks for the Pioneers.

Farrell has been a force in the face-off circle for LIU Post, compiled a .928-win percentage on draws against Post University and St. Thomas Aquinas College. With a 23-for-23 effort against Post, Farrell became one of seven players in Division II this season to record a 1.000 face-off winning percentage in a single game with at least 10 face-off wins. He rounded out the week by winning 16-of-19 attempts against the Spartans in East Coast Conference play.

Snelders ears a spot on the national squad for the second consecutive week, scoring 12 goals with three assists for 15 points. After scoring four goals and adding an assist against Post, Snelders recorded a point on every LIU Post goal against St. Thomas Aquinas, scoring eight times and adding two assists.

The Pioneers will have the weekend off before returning to ECC play on Tuesday, April 17 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium against the University of the District of Columbia at 2:00 p.m.
