Men's Lacrosse's Snelders Named to USILA Team of the Week

PERRY, N.Y. – LIU Post men's lacrosse freshman William Snelders was recognized by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association with a spot on the NCAA Division II Team of the Week as announced April 3.

Snelders had a historic week for the Pioneers, scoring 13 goals and adding four assists for 17 total points.

After scoring three goals against Georgian Court University on March 27, the Port Jefferson Station native had a performance for the ages against Roberts Wesleyan College in East Coast Conference action on March 31. Snelders tallied 10 goals in the game, scoring seven in the first half and three during the final 30 minutes. The performance cemented a place in the NCAA Division II record book, as he tied for the sixth-most goals scored by an individual in a single game. Snelders and Lake Erie College's Edmond Renaud are tied for the most goals in Division II this season, as the duo became the first players since Adelphi's Wesley Green tallied 10 during the 2006 season.

Snelders and the rest of the Pioneers return to action this afternoon when they host Post University at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in non-conference action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
