2011: USILA Outstanding Player of the Year …Lt. Donald McLaughlin Jr. Most Outstanding Midfielder of the Year … USILA First Team … ECC Player of the Year … ECC First Team … played in all 18 games … scored 29 goals with seven assists … tallied three man-up goals … caused two turnovers with 21 ground balls … registered four hat tricks during the season against American International (Feb. 27), Saint Anselm (March 16), Dowling (March 26), and Wheeling Jesuit (April 13).
2010: USILA Second Team All-America … ECC Second Team … played in all 17 games and made one start … tallied 19 goals and nine assists … scored two man-up goals … registered hat tricks against Mercy (March 7) and Mercyhurst (May 1) … added two goals and an assist at NYIT (April 3) and against Wheeling Jesuit (April 17) … scored a goal and two assists against Dominican (March 24) as well as Lake Erie (May 9) … caused eight turnovers and picked up 12 ground balls.
2009: USILA Honorable Mention All-America …Played in 16 games … scored 19 goals and added seven assists … caused three turnovers and picked up 11 ground balls.
2008: ECAC Rookie of the Year … East Coast Conference Rookie of the Year … played all 14 games … registered four goals and five assists … scooped up 10 ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Prior to C.W. Post: Was a three-year varsity lacrosse player at Sayville … named all-league and all-county…also played football and basketball.
Personal: Son of Erin and John Messina … has three siblings … brother, Matt, played lacrosse at NYIT and younger brother, Rob, is in his sophomore season playing for the Pioneers … majoring in criminal justice.
