Shantey Hill enters her 11th year at LIU Post and her sixth as Associate Athletics Director. Hill began her tenure with the University in the summer of 2003 when she became the Director of Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer.
In her current position as Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator, Hill is responsible for all internal operations and ensuring that the University’s Athletic Department abides by the rules and regulations set forth by both the NCAA and Conference offices. To assist with this task and to help better service the needs of the Pioneer student-athletes, Hill often serves as the liaison for the department and the various campus administrative offices. She works closely with the Director of Athletics and has assumed many of the daily operational responsibilities within the department. She is the sport administrator for several of the Pioneer athletic teams.
Outside of the department Hill displays her dedication to the University and its mission by serving on various campus committees. She is a member of the LIU Post Campus Safety and Security Committee, the LIU Post Campus ACE Internationalization Project Committee and is also a sub-committee member for the Long Island University Middle States Accreditation working group.
Hill’s commitment to athletics also extends beyond the campus as she currently serves on the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Committee (East Region Chair), is Chair of the East Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Committee and a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA) Sponsorship Committee. She also remains a certified athletic trainer.
Hill is a 1999 graduate of C.W. Post (B.S. Physical Education) and was a standout member and captain of the Pioneer Women’s Basketball team. In 2001, she obtained a master’s degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania and added a second master’s degree in Health Education in 2004 from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Hill has complimented these academic accolades with graduations from both the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females and the NACWAA HERS/Institute.
