Men's Lacrosse Tabbed Second In ECC Preseason Polls
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Feb. 17, 2009) - The East Coast Conference released its preseason poll today, picking C.W. Post as second-place in the conference.
Defending National Champions New York Institute of Technology led the poll and received six of seven first place votes, totaling 46 points. C.W. Post followed closely behind with 41 points and one first place vote. Mercyhurst College rounded out the top three with 36 points in the poll.
The Pioneers finished the 2008 season with an overall record of 11-3 and 4-2 record in the ECC. C.W. Post ended the 2008 season with a 19-4 win over Dominican College. Third-year head coach John Jez returns 12 players to the starting line-up, including five preseason All-America picks. The Pioneers were picked third in Division II by InsideLacrosse magazine preseason polls.
C.W. Post kicked off its season with a 15-7 win over Wingate University in Wingate, N.C. The Pioneers are set retake the field at Catawba College Feb. 17 at 4 p.m.
