Cerar Named ECC Player Of The Week
Central Islip, N.Y. (Mar. 17, 2009)- The East Coast Conference released its weekly report, honoring attackman Greg Cerar (Farmingdale, N.Y.) as Player of the Week.
Cerar compiled 20 points (9 g, 11 a) during the Pioneers' 2-0 week at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. He tallied six goals and as many assists against Queens (N.C.), before coming back with a hat trick and five helpers against St. Michael's. Currently Cerar has accumulated 21 goals and 19 assists for a total of 40 points this season, helping the Pioneers to a 6-0 overall record.
Last week the Pioneers defeated Queens (N.C) by an 18-7 margin. C.W. Post then followed up with an 18-1 victory over St. Michael's College. The Pioneers remain the third ranked team in Division II, according to most recent USILA polls. Head coach John Jez's C.W. Post squad will take on second-ranked Le Moyne in a battle of two undefeated teams Saturday. The game will take place at 5 p.m. at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y., following the Syracuse/Binghamton matchup.
