BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 29, 2011) – Senior Danny Schmidt (Hicksville, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post men's lacrosse team recently participated in the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5k Run on Sept. 24.

The run is held each year to honor the legacy of Stephen Siller, a New York City Firefighter, who laid down his life on 9/11, by “doing good” in his name.

Schmidt ran alongside his brother and C.W. Post alum, Richard Schmidt '10, along with Pioneer lacrosse alums Michelle Fucich '11, Mike Messina '11 and Jon Kology '09.

More than 30,000 runners and walkers participated in the annual event that began in 2002.  The Schmidts run in remembrance of their uncle, Terrance Patrick Farrell, who made the ultimate sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001.  Farrell served alongside C.W. Post alum and fellow hero firefighter, Darrell “Bronko” Pearsall '92 in NYFD Rescue 4.
